the fabric strip so the ends of the fringe are

inch or closer to each short edge. Pin
and sew flat trim on the right side of the
same fabric strip, leaving 1 inch between
the fringe and the flat trim.
With right sides together, sew the two
fabric strips together, taking care not
to catch the tassels in the stitching and
leaving a 4-inch opening on one side.
Trim the seams and corners. Turn the
table runner right side out; press. Slip-
stitch the opening closed.
